Discover Strayboar Project

Welcome to the project. Simply by being here, a gap has been bridged between you and a segment of society that struggles every day with communication. The Strayboar project came about as a means for three Veterans to express themselves through art, adventure, and an ever present focus on positivity. Many Veterans who’ve been released from a unit after being wounded physically, mentally or both tend to become isolated and detached. Whether systemic or incredibly coincidental, the outcome is almost always the same. Even though there are important social safety nets in place for Canadian Veterans, the need to belong in a community that understands them is undeniably important. We’ve discovered over time that many veterans who struggle with integration, develop a means of artistic expression. For some it’s as simple as earning a little money for work done in the safety of their own shop or home. For others, it’s quite literally their only way to communicate. We hope that by opening up our own lives and showing how we navigate the pitfalls of recovery, we’re able to make this community better understood.  Help us bridge the gap between a civil society and the people who served to protect it.
